I've been trying to put together some pages to [s]show-off[/s] keep track of my breads. Using Front-page. Yikes. Well...no choice as I'm HTML-challenged.
I'm trying to have a gallery with thumbnail pix which scrolls horizontally. If you're using IE or Netscape (I think), the page should be alright, though I wish the scrolling is smoother...methinks you need flash for that, right? However....BIG SIGH....I browse with Mozilla Firefox and, egad!, the little pix on top goes on forever to the right...they are not limited to x no. of pix per screen. KWIM? Can someone help me think this one out? Please? How should I re-write the codes?

Also, welcome comments/ideas/critiques......Thanks!

Hi TP,
I believe you are using Javscript (forms) for your horizontal pics. I am seeing an overflow like you mentioned. You might want to change the width for the right handside of your webpage where your "form codes" are. This might help...
table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" width="700"
This was extracted from your source code, try changing the width to 500 or till it fits and see what happens. I reckon 400 might be fine. You might need to change and save your file then browse the page with your firefox a few times to get the ideal sizing. I am just a novice hope it works....
Don, when I go to HTML view of the page, what I get is very short and sweet, compared to the source view of the live page.

I don't see any code where I can adjust the width.
TP,
That's weird, you make use of a free javascript? Did you have to host the pictures somewhere? Where did you get the form from? Maybe I can have a look at the program and see what I can do before letting you know again. To be honest, I'm never good at using frontpage, am just the traditional guy that uses a HTML editor to write my files....
My dear Don....the reason why I use a WYSIWYG program is because I ain't computer savvy...what do I know about Java script???
The pix are browsed directly from my computer files. I think it's about time I got down to learning some serious HTML.
Tks. Take your time. Nite.
TP,
It looks like the scripts are hardcoded for IE and Netscape, its something too advance for me so guess with my limited knowledge, I might not be able to assist. Will try to have a good look at it and see if I can come out with something....
Thanks for the effort, Don.
Hey, guys, THIS is what I want!. Yeah!
TP ... your very own OTHER website I find disturbingly delicious, too!
You are very clever and have obviously worked very hard ...
JELLYCAKE!
OK...Jellycake for you if we ever meet. I'm a sucker for flattery.

Thanks for the effort, Don.
You are most welcome. I went thru the source code and they sure have it done for IE & Netsacape friendly. Just google for "horizontal banners or scroll" and you will get a list of javascript forms, select what's best for you and you just need to copy and paste in the "body" of your html followed by attaching the photos to it. You will get a step by step instruction of how to do it....
Thanks, Don. Will check it out tonite.
Hi TP,
I know nothing about writing code for webpages!
But I'm gonna love your new site!
YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!
Carol.
I see your problem TP, I'm using Firefox and on 1024x768 I get just over half a page width.
Sorry, I have very little knowledge on how to build webpages
Something that I want to learn about though
How did I miss this thread TP!
I know html and all that jazz.
I'm not sure exactly what you want to happen TP, but in my browser, your site looks like this and this
Could you show me a "good" screenshot?
Like the site!
Maedi
Good grief! Is that what you see? Everything's out of alignment! No need to wait up for me...I'm in the midst of baking a granary loaf...will do the prtsc later.
Tks, Maedi!
I'm so jealous TP, how and when did you decide to outwit us all! Can't wait for the project to grow!

HTML is really easy, and I wish I could teach you all somehow. I can post some link's if you want.
Labels/hyperlinks properly aligned

Browser IE: Note thumbnail sketches are limited to 5-6 per page, have to scroll for the rest

Browser Mozilla: Thumbnail sketches are not limited, goes on forever to the right till the last pic.

Continuation of the above screen.

I think Frontpage is just not friendly with Mozilla. Is there any way the code can be rewritten to appear like that using IE to browse?
No hurry...take your time. If this can't be straightened out, I guess I've to stick to the conventional gallery.

I went through this. Helps with the basics. There are higher levels but I haven't found the time to absorb it yet.
If there are other sites like that, would be good, Maedi. Tks!
