Some more detail would be handy.
First off, is your starter active. That is, does it fill with gas bubbles and rise?
What method and recipe are you following? What are your room conditions - hot, cold?
Can you post a picture?
Have you read SourDom's Beginners Blogs on this site (Home Page right hand panel)?
