I would say scrape the black dots off the top and continue to feed it as usual. If it smells nice and sour and is active, it should be safe to use. I'm curious whether you've had it for a while or if you're just starting it.
Thanks for your response. Since a few days had passed, I had been mixing it as it is and continue to feed it. In the meantime, I decided not to bake with it. Today it has Strong alcoholic odor. I got it for almost a year.
Hmm, that's interesting. I remember once when I was just starting mine it smelled alcholic for a little. I think I just kept feeding it and it started smelling better. If you are worried about yours, you could try feeding it a little whole wheat flour for extra nutrition (if you are using white flour now).
It is a bit hard to tell from the picture but the spots that I can see don't look a lot like mold. You say that you feed with wholemeal spelt flour and I wonder if the spots are just flakes of bran. If you haven't noticed them before perhaps you have started a new batch of flour or changed brands in recent times.
Hope it all works out well and good luck with your projects.

Regularly I feed it with the whole spelt flour. I think it's condition improving slowly. Thank you.
