It would be great to meet you two and Mick's idea will be fab if it can suit us all. Mind you, I'm getting a bit nervous about my skills (or lack of them) on public display...
The cat (Sylvie) is great and very photogenic. I'll change the avatar from time to time so as you see a bit more of her!
I know a guy who ate a cat when he was pow - delicious he said at the time, but that was probably more to do with the appalling conditions in which he was living.
Do the cats down under cope with the snakes and bigger insects?
My dishwasher from Martinique say's he loves cats cooked like coq au vin!
It's been said that his father took an orphan cat from the street, fattened it up and ate it!

Mate, the feral cats down here would give you second thoughts before you went near one of them. The snakes live in terror of them.
Tough cats, eh? Once saw a feral cat on Cyprus simply walk up to a very large live pigeon (at least as big as the cat), grab it by the neck with its mouth and walk off with it - poor pigeon didn't have a chance. This was a few years ago and I can still picture it!
I wouldn't describe ours as tough in that manner (to say the least) but she had the skill and character to survive having been lost as a domestic kitten for 6 months until she found us. She was tattooed as a kitten and this is how we pieced together her history from the previous owners.
Don't worry though, she's sleeping safe and sound next to the radiator as I write!
my cat is the smallest in a street but don't let the size fool you
she will not look for troubles but if someone/something gives her troubles she turns in to a beast
there was this big fat cat coming after her for months, she would just jump on the roof and laugh at him but once he corrnered her and that was last time i seen him around, she kicked his arse so bad it isn't funny
other time some new cat come to our front yard so she begined to whack him and than wouldn't let him leave for good hour
love my cat
