A while ago I was looking throught the items on the side of the sourdough site titled 'what we're baking' and found an article from a guy in melbourne building a bread oven. He gave blow by blow photos and instructions, bought his vermiculite in largish bags. He ended up using cement and vermiculite to insulate it over the outside and coloured it with rather a lot of red ochre so that it looked rather like a maroon igloo. He then painted it another light colour.
I have not been able to relocate this item and wondered if anyone can give me a link to it. Thanks

Thanks farinam for your link but it wasn't the one I was looking for. It was built like an igloo but using a 'guide stick' to keep the shape uniform and ended up very red coloured, because of the ochre he used, and was then painted grey. It was also a more compact, simple build, and landscaped the area with granite tiling.
