Fresh fruit in bread

Hello, Has anyone tried baking sourdough bread using fresh fruit puree as part of the liquid to sweeten the loaf? Strawberries, peaches, apricots......? Summer is coming here & I'm intrigued. Would it work?

Hello Anonymous,

There is a recipe on this site that uses beetroot as an ingredient and it produces a rather startling purple loaf so I don't see why you couldn't use whatever you fancy.  Not a lot to lose having a go and maybe you can start the next big thing in the process.
