Hi everyone - seems to be a bit quiet here so here's a photo of some bread I made last week.

These are Jeffrey Hamelman's two leaven sourdough. Wonderful flavour from the rye and wheat leavens built separately, one moist, one firm - not too open crumb and excellent keeping.
Best wishes

Pete, you should enter one of your loaves for Dan's competition, though, I suspect you may have the book already. Well, when you win it, you can pass it to me, lol.
TP, I haven't got the book actually but I don't like competitions so much. Mind, I am sure I wouldn't win - I think those kids are going to be difficult to beat but then I doubt that they would want the book!
If you haven't tried this recipe, it is well worth a go.
Best wishes
Pete
I was kidding, Pete. You're right, who'd stand a chance against wide-eyed innocence?
I love competitions...for the fun of it. I never enter anything thinking I'd win anything. If I do, it's a bonus, a thrill, a celebration.
yum
i myself started baking again, doing hybrids only till i'm happy with my new starter but it feels bloody great to have time again for some baking
hope my starter is ready for weekend, its very active already but i'm not too happy with its smell yet
