This was an effort to get some bread out after feeding my food starved starters from the fridge, it's the sourdough from Nancy Silvertons book.

Though I didn't spend a single day in art school, I used to be a freelance book illustrator to pay for my college tuition fees. Old schoolmates who became editors remembered I could draw.
PhotoShop is a very powerful tool to edit your pix, make frames, add watermarks, draw (like the fat cat above), and more, more, more. Shaky attempt up there coz I was using a mouse to draw.
Croc, listen to the wise words of Jeremy. We want to see turtles...I mean...bread from you.
Thanks for the tip on Photo shop seems like you still have the knack for illustrating!

Photoshop is best choose even on Mac. Are You driving OSX? Then you may use Gimp, it's not so expensive but has quite another handling.
The GIMP is an open source alternative to photoshop. It runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

Maedi , does the photo shop have an animation sort of creation for doodles or caricatures?
Thanks,
Jeremy
Photoshop is a photografic editor, not a grafical program. BUt there are a lot of filters, I guess there may be some for your asked features..I don't know them all..googling is the word
Most of them will function with GIMP too, if I stumble about, I'll inform you.
Adobe Photoshop is for editing images.
Creating "Graphics" can be done in Adobe Illustrator. An open source alternative of Illustrator is Inkscape.
I like to create Graphics in Flash. Flash is designed for vector animation, but I use it for design, just fine.
and for Pixel Art (stills and animation), I like Pixen. It needs a minimun of Mac OS X Panther, which I'm not certain you have Jeremy.
Cooorrrr! So many things to learn...so little time!
So busy with other things on my hands!
