Dear bakers -
I have a dear friend who I've promised to show how to make bread for years and years, but, shamefully, have never got around to it - she always says 'call me when you're mixing the dough' but so often it's at 5 in the morning and I just don't have the heart!
Anyway, now she's moving to Melbourne (Dandenongs actually), so I'd love to send her off to do a day's bread making training. Can anyone recommend somewhere that runs a good course? A quick web search has brought up 'Marg and Marees', it doesn't look like they do a sourdough though.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Happy fermenting and thanks!
Charla

Apparently there are regular 1-day workshops at the Abottsford Convent. I haven't attended one myself, but info is on their website as well (as for the Red Beard).

Hi Maedi, I'm fairly new here. Has the ABA/Ultimo workshop been held already?
Hi Kerry,
Unfortunately the ABA/Ultimo course has been postponed. Do you want me to let you know about future workshops and events?
If you can get to Tasmania, we are holding an oven building workshop here in a months time.

Cheers all - and enjoy your courses, you lucky folk!
I've done some research on a handful of sourdough courses in and around Melbourne. It provides prices and inclusions of
classes from places such as Redbeard, Ceres and the Convent.

Hope it helps.
