Question about starter

Hi. This is my first starter and today is day 3. When I fed my starter this morning, after mixing in a bowl, I placed the starter into a new, clean (dishwasher) jar. It does not seem to be working like it did yesturday. My question: Is a new, clean jar a good idea or a bad idea? This is the first time I changes jars. I did not change jars on day 2. Does a change in jars upset the process a little? Advice would be very appreciated. Having fun. Thanks
