La Madre Bakery is an artisan sourdough producer based in Geelong, Victoria. Our skilled bakers use simple methods and considered techniques to produce a fantabulous range of handmade sourdough, rye, 100% spelt sourdough, traditional breads and seasonal sweet treats.
We scour the land for the finest ingredients using freshly milled flours, filtered water, pure sea salt and natural air borne yeast and where possible, other tasty local additions like the Kalamata olives in our Olive Sourdough, sourced right here in Victoria. And, of course, it’s a definite ‘No’ to nasty preservatives, improvers and additives.
Central to operations at the purpose-built Geelong bakery is sustainability. Using this term in its wider sense La Madre Bakery act to reduce their carbon footprint, support local suppliers, hire locally and actively get involved in supporting community initiatives.
We deliver all over Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula, Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, the Surf Coast and Country Victoria seven days a week, supplying some of Victoria’s most prestigious and innovative hotels, restaurants and cafés.
A savvy set up and business philosophy lead to us winning the Baking Industry of Victoria’s ‘Bakery Manufacturer of the Year 2009’ and the Medium Business Award at the Geelong Advertiser Business Excellence Awards in 2010.
