8 doggies 8 inches long...an ideal length I thought. Didn't occur to me to check how long the sausages are...hope these fit. Having them for lunch tomorrow. Will post an update on the taste. Meanwhile, ....try not to be naughty.

Ok so won't say - nice (bread) porn...
Getting a bit too close otherwise...

Very nice rolls TP, I do admire the glazed crust and the uniform shape.

I have managed to keep my comments purely to do with baking, by the simple method of biting my tongue very hard while typing.

I think you guys are cracking me up more with your very restrained posts than if you had let it all out! Carol's missing....I guess she has gone to the clinic's emergency ward to nurse a bleeding tongue.

OK...off to make a nice salad to put in the doggies. I hear thinly-sliced leek, carrots and apples with mayo are an irresistible combo. Wait a min...don't have leek, will sub with some bombay onions.

Salad in the doggies

You mean you do not eat hot dogs (as in dogs roasted in a hot oven)

Eek! Glad I took my lunch before reading about cooking dogs in an oven. The sausage came short of the roll. This is my 5-yo's plate; mine had 2 sausages. Satisfying meal indeed, with the chicken cheese sausage and slaw. The bread was good, with medium density and sourness.

The buns look glazed but actually, they're just brushed with olive oil on taking out of the oven to soften the crust to suit the family.

Sorry to have upset you TP!
In some Asian countries it still seems a delikatessen to eat dog.
And of course if you make hot dogs I had to put my rude abrasive thoughts to it...
Hope you have recovered from my Germanic ways by now

Ach, Carla! I should have inserted a wink at the end of my sentence.

Ah - I am glad you are not worried.
I think jeremy was a bit worried you might be upset about something to do with Croc.
But when I went to see what it was all about there are only 2 posts there now.
Has somebody deleted a whole lot??

It is sometimes rather difficult to get across your intended meaning in the cyberworld. Smilies help but is not adequate. Guess we have to learn to take things less seriously but with respect.

Jeremy.....hey! Smile.

Kinky! You make your own dogs? I'm just guessing that's what it is...a hot dog sausage maker, right?
No I don't make dogs. Too much work for me!
I fry the sausages and eat bread and salad with it

The pictures are hotdog makers for the home. I got them from the trademe website and they will probably disappear in a couple of weeks.

You keep the sausages warm in the water part of things and the breadroll gets stuck onto the hot metal spike, so it is hot inside. Then you throw the tomatosauce (=ketchup) into the bread, stuff the sausage in and then (apparently) you have "American Hotdogs". Jeremy will correct me if I am wrong!

Here in NZ we have NZ hotdogs which are completely inedible to me. Starting with a sausage which is about 10% meat, the rest being old mutton fat, sawdust and soybean meal with colouring and flavouring. (And this is not exagerated! I have always wondered what "pork flavour" or "beef flavour" on a packet of sausages meant until I talked to a butcher!!)
This "sausage" has then a wooden stick inserted into its end, is then dunked into a batter and thrown into the warm fat, so that now you have a product which is fat inside and fat outside and then dunked into tomatosauce which is running down its sides. That is the NZ hotdog in short.

Yeah we have hot dogs, full of snout and other wonderful things, including biohazardous material I suppose!
I prefer to go to my Yugo butcher for some old world wieners or Brat wurst, little ketchup and curry, give me a brothcen und Bier and voila!

Tchuß! Zum wohl!

Yeah you might be "voll" if you drink and eat too much, but the greeting is: "Zum Wohl"
