Hello all , I have exciting news, I have fired up the left oven at a low temperature to test for a few days.We fired it up on Monday 12th December 2011.All went very well and I have it still going after four days, There was a lot of moisture that came out of the bricks for a while. I am running it at a very low temperature. I still have to do some more work to the right hand ovenwhivh has Small and Shattell Engineers Melbourne,Any information when this company was in business would also be appresiated to get it up and running.All comments and any more information would be greatly appreciated, and many thanks for for your help on this very exciting project. Clive Millman the son of the original owner was here to give some more information and help and I found him very knowledgeable telling us all about the ovens.I am going to bake a loaf of bread and perhaps a Christmas Cake as well.I hope to take the oven up to 180c to bake these, so we will see how we go and I will give you more information as we go.Many thanks to you all for your information and more comments would be appreciated.

I ALSO NEED INFORMATION WHERE I COULD GET A NEW GRATE MADE AND WHERE I COULD GET THE TEMPERATURE GAGE REPAIRED ON THE LEFT OVEN IT WAS MADE BY DOBIE BROS MELBOURNE.THE RIGHT OVEN HAS A PYROMETER MADE FOR HENRY BERRY AND COM PTY LTD WHICH IS WORKING PERFECTLY.THE OVENS HAVE A STEAM CONTROL TO ADD STEAM TO MAKE VIENNA LOAVES WITH A THIN CRUST.MR ClIVE MILLMAN, THE SON OF THE ORIGINAL BUILDER OF THE BAKERY CAME AND TOLD US VERY VALUABLE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW HE USED TO WORK THEM AND THERE USED TO BE A FRUIT SHOP NEXT DOOR,40 YEARS AGO WE USED OLD FENCE PAILINGS, AND HE USED TO GET THE WOODEN BANANA BOXES TO GIVE IT A FLASH.I HAVE MADE A COUPLE OF LOAVES ,BUT DID NOT TURN OUT REAL GOOD AS THE MAKE SHIFT GRATE FELL DOWN AND THE FIRE WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRE BOX,MR CLIVE MILLMAS SAID THEY USED TO LEAVE THE FIRE BOX HALF FULL OF ASH FOR IT TO HEAT BETTER..HOPE TO HAVE A ARTISAN BAKER AND A FULL PROVENDER STORE EVENTUALLY.ANY MORE HELP FROM YOU FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD WOULD BE VERY GOOD AND VALUABLE TO ME.
