Todays Bags.

Todays bake, 3 half baguettes. One of these is just perfect for two people to have with dinner. These were cooked for 18 minutes at 230C on fan bake, I could never get this colour in the old furnace.

That's why I asked.

Oh, good! We're going to see the building of 2 ovens in the near future. I promise not to make too much Oven Envy noise if you and Matthew will show your W-I-P.......with pix!

Hi Bill, nice loaves. I'm sure you've mentioned before but do you steam your oven? I've always resisted the fan bake because I've wondered what it would do to the small amount of steam in my oven.

One good spray of water to the top of the loaf (not on rye loaves) and half a dozen ice cubes into a hot dish on the bottom shelf.

Awesome bags

Plenty of room for bag bakes

Cool

Well Forno, for many years I dreamed of a wood fired oven to bake in, since getting my current oven my dreams have stopped.

Very nice baguettes Bill.
I will have to try my hand on wheat sourdough!

Looks great! What's the width and breadth of your oven again? Mine's too small for even half bags.....another reason for a new oven??

Smile

One can keep dreaming, right?
