Charing Cross Produce grow culinary herbs and bake simple, old-fashioned, generous artisan style breads for the rural community of Dudley Peninsula on Kangaroo Island.
We are passionate about baking bread and our primary motivation is to bake wholesome loaves that contribute to our community.
Our breads are always made from natural ingredients, and wherever possible these ingredients are certified organic. Additives and preservatives are never used.
We consciously source our flours, seeds and grains from the closest mills we can.
Our loaves are large and hearty with chewier darker crusts and a lovely burnished quality. All our breads reflect the baker’s hand individually folding each piece of dough.
We feature our own Dudley Sourdough – a beautifully textured and richly flavored bread made from organic stone-ground flours, sea salt and the pure rainwater of Kangaroo Island.
Charing Cross breads are baked fresh on order twice weekly and for public sale at every Penneshaw Farmers’ Market.
